Hello and welcome! I am Elaine Vermaak, owner and photographer at Elaine Otto Photography. I’ve been a family and newborn photographer in Cape Town since 2010. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into a heartfelt calling — and today, I’m honoured to be part of so many families’ most treasured moments.

Over the years, I’ve photographed hundreds of newborns, glowing mothers-to-be, and joyful families. Every session is a unique story, and I’m passionate about capturing authentic, timeless images in a calm and comfortable environment — especially for new parents navigating those precious early days.

In addition to newborn photography, I offer maternity portraits, family sessions, personal branding, corporate photography, and pet & equine photography that celebrate life’s little (and big) moments. Whether it’s your first baby, your growing toddlers, your loving pets, or updating your personal brand, I’m here to help you preserve it beautifully.

My studio is based in the peaceful suburb of Durbanville on the beautiful Loch Lynn Wine Estate, just outside Cape Town. It’s a warm, welcoming space designed with comfort in mind, particularly for newborn sessions. I regularly work with families across Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs, as well as Stellenbosch, Bellville and Brackenfell. I am blessed to travel often to Hermanus, Onrus and even so far as Mosselbay and George. 

My love for the ocean and beach runs deep, therefor many of my beach photography sessions take place in and around Blouberg, Melkbos and even so far as Langebaan.
