Surrounded by endless fields of golden yellow flowers and beautiful afternoon light, this session was all about family, connection, and enjoying the simple moments together.

The Full Story: A Field of Golden Memories
The canola fields around the Western Cape are one of those seasonal treasures that you simply have to experience while they’re here.
For a short period each year, the landscape transforms into a sea of bright yellow blossoms, creating an incredible natural backdrop for family photography.
The Bernardo family session was photographed amongst these beautiful fields in Durbanville, making the most of the warm afternoon light and the incredible scenery.
Rather than creating a highly posed family session, the focus was on movement, interaction, laughter, and those little moments that naturally happen when a family spends time together.

The idea is simple. Throughout the year, the Western Cape gives us incredible seasonal backdrops that are only available for a limited time.
Seasonal Shoots are designed to take advantage of these moments.
Think blossoming canola fields, spring flowers, autumn colours, winter landscapes, summer sunsets, and other beautiful seasonal locations around Cape Town and the Winelands.
These aren’t locations that are available year round. That’s what makes them special.
When the season arrives, we create a limited opportunity for families to have their photographs taken amongst it.

The Bernardo family session was designed to feel natural and relaxed.
The children could explore the fields, interact with one another, and simply enjoy being outside while we captured the moments as they happened.
Some of the sweetest photographs came from the interactions between the children and their parents. From cuddles and kisses to playful moments in the flowers, these genuine connections are what give a family gallery its personality.
